Associate Counsel Form Usage
A reminder that there are statewide project policies for the use of associate counsel time. The projects expect that appointed counsel will read the entire record, will be conversant in the case and issues, and will report the extent and use of associate counsel time. Associate counsel time is reported as a part of appointed counsel's time for a task, but their time must also be reported separately in an attachment to the claim.
Also, AIDOAC policy states that associate counsel cannot be used for cases appointed on an assisted basis except under extraordinary circumstances and by first obtaining approval from the project director.

AIDOAC rule:
Effective March 25, 2005, use of this form is required for every case and with every claim (both interim and final claims), even if sample briefing was not used in the case. Exception: Wende & Sade C. final claims.
