Directions for Submitting a Change of Address
Whenever you have a change of business address, you should inform the court clerk for your cases, each of your clients, and each of the individual projects that you work with. The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) requires the change of address be submitted on their form (see fillable-format PDF form below).
You may
FAX or snail-mail the signed form to each of the appellate projects on whose panel you are a member. The appellate project will then make sure that the AOC gets the corrected information. If you are on more than one panel, you must submit it to each project, even though it means the AOC may get multiple copies from the projects. We suggest that you keep a copy, noting each of the projects to which you sent the form.
IMPORTANT: If you rent a mail box space at a private company (a "commercial mail receiving agency," or CMRA) with an address that looks like a regular office address, please review the proper way to designate a CMRA address. "Mail Boxes Etc." is an example of this type of mail box service. If you use a CMRA and your incoming mail does not comply with the postal service CMRA regulations, you will not get letters from your clients, documents from the courts, or compensation checks from the State. Be sure to notify your clients and the various courts to address your mail in accordance with the current regulations.
